“Don’t harm me! I’m just the messenger!”
For those delivering Bibles to persecuted believers, there is no ‘just’ about the messenger. These Christians must be spiritually alert and physically careful as they deliver God’s Word to those desperate to have their own copy to read. Travel may be through dangerous territory, Bibles may need to be concealed enroute or when delivered, and persecution is a risk. Partnering with ministries who serve in regions hostile to Christianity, Heart Training donates Bibles to such believers who long for their own copy. Each Heart Training Bible study encourages you to pray for this recipient weekly, related to growing in faith and suffering for Christ. May we also remember to pray for those who deliver God’s Word into the hands of their fellow believers. Some walk for many hours to receive the Bibles that they will then share with others. Some sneak out in the dark of night to leave the Bibles unannounced in hope of not getting noticed. However God directs these daring messengers, they put their trust in the God they live for and serve. They depend on him for courage, discretion, and protection.
Let’s pray for those who bring God’s Word to the persecuted:
Omnipotent God, you work in ways we often cannot see or comprehend. Your truth is life changing and we are grateful to know you through Jesus, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). It is a joy and privilege to serve you. It is also a great risk for those who deliver Bibles to believers in regions ripe in hatred toward Christianity. As they bring your words of truth, may your Holy Spirit supply them with joy in their hope, patience in their afflictions, and faithfulness in their prayers (Romans 12:12). Give them your wisdom for discretion as they make choices along the way. Help them to trust you as they serve as messengers of your truth.
Pray regularly for persecuted Christians when you use a Heart Training Bible study.
