Everyone has challenges. As Christ followers living out God’s truth in love, we should anticipate additional struggles because of the spiritual battle.
For some who become members in the family of God, the struggle hits hard. This is surely the case for converts to Christianity in the country of Oman, where over 95% of the people are Muslim. Located on the southeast part of the Arabian Peninsula, Oman has a ranking of 32 on the World Watch List. Although there are a few churches where the government allows foreign Christians to meet, even those believers are not allowed to convene in homes or witness to Omanis. For Oman converts, their family and society pressure them to recant their Christian faith and return to Islam. If they do not, they know they risk losing their home, family, and inheritance. They have to engage their faith – including Bible reading, worship, prayer, and fellowship – discreetly. As members of one body in Christ, we can support them through prayer. We have a heavenly Father who cares about and provides for his children.
Let’s pray for these Omani brothers and sisters in Christ:
Heavenly Father, you know the hardships that come when choosing Jesus. Our brothers and sisters in Oman risk so much to live for you in a country that is not welcoming to Christians. You see every one of these believers, you know their every need, and you hear their every prayer. May they sense your presence and love. Through your Holy Spirit, grant them courage and perseverance as they seek you and your will each day. Give them wisdom and discernment as they live out their faith. May they be encouraged through the prayers of the family of God.
Keep the persecuted family of believers in your prayers as you work through a Heart Training book.
